Core features
Properties & units
Everything in Onsite is organized around properties. This guide covers how to add a property, configure its type, set up units for multi-unit buildings, and keep your portfolio organized.
What you'll need
- Full civic address for each property
- Property type (rental, primary home, vacation, or investment)
- Unit numbers or identifiers if it's a multi-unit building
Open the Properties page
From the Dashboard, click Properties in the left sidebar. You'll see a list of all your properties. Click Add property in the top-right corner to open the form.
Enter the address
Fill in the full civic address:
- Street address (e.g. 123 Main St)
- City
- Province
- Postal code
Onsite does not geocode or validate addresses — enter them as they appear on your lease or mortgage documents.
Choose a property type
Select the type that best describes the property:
| Type | When to use | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Rental | Income-producing property with paying tenants | Most common for landlords |
| Primary home | Your own principal residence | Occupancy rules apply — only one active tenant allowed |
| Vacation rental | Short-term or seasonal rental | Manage as a rental property |
| Investment | Held for appreciation, not currently rented | No tenant management required |
Set up units (multi-unit buildings)
If the property has multiple rentable spaces — apartments, basement suites, row units — check Has multiple units in the form.
Onsite will prompt you to add unit identifiers. These can be numbers (101, 102) or letters (A, B, C) or any combination.
A default unit is created automatically when you save — you can rename or delete it from the property detail page.
Save and verify
Click Save property. The property appears in your sidebar and on the Properties page. From the property detail view you can:
- Add or rename units
- Navigate to Tenants, Tickets, and Finances for that property
- Edit the address or type at any time
- Archive the property when it's no longer active
Plan limits
The Free plan supports up to 2 properties. The Starter plan supports up to 5, and Pro is unlimited. You can upgrade at any time from Settings → Billing.
